AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) plays as an attacking player. She also serves as captain of the San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the top division of professional women's soccer. From 2018 until 2020, she served as co-captain for the US women's national soccer team along with Megan Rappinoe. In the months following her graduation early from the University of California, Berkeley where she was a player for the California Golden Bears, Morgan was drafted number one overall during the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. In the team, she made her professional debut and assisted the team in winning the league title. Morgan at the time, who was 22 years old, was the youngest national player to play at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 in which she finished second. Morgan scored the game-winning goal against Canada in the 123rd minute of the semi-final match at the 2012 London Olympics. She was the second player in the United States to have 20 assists and 28 goals in 2012. This made her the youngest and sixth most prolific player in the nation to achieve 20 goals in one year. The following year, she was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete Of The Year and was also a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan contributed to helping the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. Morgan was also included in the Dream Team. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
