Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American screen and stage actress, best well-known for her films as a character in Ray Undercover Brother and on the TV show The Mentalist. She has a Bachelor's degree in African-American Studies and an MFA from Tisch School of Arts New York University. Aunjanue Lisa Ellis is an actor, producer as well as an American actress active in theatre in film, television, and theatre. Her career began with theater, and was later featured in several TV shows and independent as well as mainstream films. She became famous as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico in addition to appearing on BET's epic series The Book of Negroes. Both of the roles she was praised by critics and received a variety of awards and nominations, among them an award from the Television Critics Choice Award for Best Actress. In 1995, she was the first actress to make her debut on stage in The Tempest as Ariel. Her stage credits include Come and Gone Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis, a Broadway production by Joe Turner. In her film career, she is best known for her role in movies like Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. She is also well-known for her part in ABC's crime-drama High Incident.
